Lexie T grew up in the Paris area before moving to Lille for a few years, to Nantes for a year and settling in Montpellier.
As a teenager, she played bass and drums and and headbanged in metal and punk concerts. In 2011, she discovered beatboxing during a workshop and related to this art form and welcoming and kind community. She then decided to join the French Beatbox Championship and won first place. A few years later, she started to rap on her beatboxing instrumentals, recorded with a looper.
Now a double French Beatbox Champion and a Loopstation Vice-Champion, a beatboxer and a rapper, Lexie T is also a kind of beatmaker as she creates sounds with her mouth and then raps on them. The artist is particularly attached to passing on her skills through workshops and video tutorials.
She can also be found on the S-One Project, a mixtape of female rappers launched by Parisian DJ S-One. Eager to get back on stage and meet her audience after lockdown, she’s currently working on a new EP that should be released by the end of the year.
