  1. Very good list. In the ladies first video there a few rappers other the Queen and Monie in the video . I cant remember their names. They may have not been really big artist But I did like a song or 2 . please help!! Thanks

  2. Who made this timeline list? I was cutting up … pick-up-on-this 500 different ways in 1988. It’s a song called “Push It” by Salt-n-Pepa……………

  3. This list is great.
But the dates & order are way off.
MC Sha Rock is the first Woman in Rap starting as a B-Girl in the early 70’s & was a part of the “Funky 4 Plus 1” the first Rap Crew to get a Record Deal with their hit, “ That’s the Joint”. She was part of the first Rap Crew ever to appear on National TV on Saturday Night Live.

And MC Lyte got her start in 87’ with the single “I cram to understand u (sam)”predating her Album.

    1. We put the dates of the tracks selected on the playlist, not the dates of the beginning of their career.
